Reflection based on survey 1

This is my reflection based on the first survey conducted of HoodedKnight, my video game.

I've used this platform to understand what my audience are looking for in this project and how I can make it better for them.

The target audience of video game was met as expected, but given that the sample size of this survey is small, the accuracy is not high.

The game was targeted at casual gamers in every age group as the game has simple controls and a straightforward objective.

The replayablity of the game is not as high as expected, but i do understand why, given that the game is still under development and didn't have any features such as a restart button, health bar or highs core counter.

I will add more of these features and improve on the game level design so ensure that the player can have fun exploring the level.

Based on the survey, I can conclude that the player controls are not comfortable for everyone.

I used the industry standard "WASD" and Arrow keys for movement on the keyboard. In contrast, I decided to use J/K keys for attack and dash when WASD keys are used and Z/X keys when arrow keys are used. My thought process was to make sure the game was playable solely using a keyboard, as some people may use laptops, and using the keyboard with a trackpad for gaming is very uncomfortable. I see that I should have also made the option to use a keyboard and mouse. I will work on this in future versions

I'm glad that most player enjoyed the art style of the game, but i have to give credits to the original artists.

I will add more art similar to the current one to add variations in the game level.

I see that the gameplay ratings are as expected since the game is still under development.

I will continue to add more elements that will increase the gameplay value

After reviewing the inputs, I noticed that i may have overlooked essential parts of any games such as audio, menu and a restart option.

I will develop and add the option to use keyboard and mouse, music, menus and a health bar for the next version of the game.

I see that the game has been working without errors on different types of computers. I will continue to use the same method for exporting as it seems to have no issues.

I've noticed that people have expected there to be audio in the game, that's not an error as I've yet to add audio and soundtracks to the video game.

The recommendation value of the video game is very low, this is expected as the game is still under development.

Based on the survey, these are the things that i will add on the next update of my video game:

- Menu screens

- Audio and Soundtrack

- Health Bar for player

- Keyboard and mouse option for movement

- More enemy variants to increase the difficulty

- Larger and better game level with hidden items.
